Dr. Eray Şahin
Bioinformatics Scientist – Metagenomics
Dr. Eray Şahin is a bioinformatician specializing in metagenomics and multi-omics data analysis. He holds a BSc in Genetics and Bioengineering and an MSc in Biotechnology, during which he gained practical experience in wet-lab techniques including tissue culture, PCR, and molecular cloning. He recently earned his PhD in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, with a research focus on the gut-brain axis, integrating metagenomic and metabolomic data derived from an epilepsy disease rat model.
As part of his doctoral training, Dr. Şahin conducted research as a visiting scholar at the University of Copenhagen’s GLOBE Institute, where he contributed to the downstream statistical analysis of bulk RNA-seq data from broiler chickens within the scope of the EU-funded HoloFood project.
Dr. Şahin is proficient in R, with strong capabilities in statistical modeling, data integration, and visualization. Within the company, his primary focus is the design and execution of metagenomics studies.
